Native Restoration and Forestry Stock Specialists
Whether you are planning to revegetate land and waterways with native plants or embark on forestry projects that demand top-quality plants without generating plastic waste, Plenty Plants has the solutions to meet your needs.
Our Story
In our quest for a sustainable approach to cultivating and planting trees on our Bay of Plenty farm to safeguard the lakes, streams, and wetlands in the Rotorua and Rotoiti catchments, we consulted with industry leaders. They introduced us to Ellepot technology, and now Plenty Plants Nursery uses this cutting-edge solution to grow our seedlings.
Our Expertise
Delivering on a premium planting project relies on plants of consistently high quality. This requires plants with a robust root structure to establish well within their environment quickly after planting, a key attribute that is consistently delivered with the Ellepot growing system.
Visit our technology page to discover all the benefits of this innovative growing system, including labour savings and eliminating plastic bag and container waste.

Our Plant Varieties
Forestry
Our forestry tree grade plants are grown in 40mm diameter Ellepot degradable paper plugs that produce a superior root structure resulting in better establishment results, a longer planting season compared to bare root stock as well as significant labour saving and waste reduction compared to seedlings grown in single use trays. These plugs are the preferred stock type for mechanical planting.
Native Restoration
Key varieties of natives for revegetation are grown in 50mm Ellepot paper plugs. The superior root development of this technology produces a restoration grade plant in an 85% smaller plug than a typical PB2 size, reducing transport and planting labour costs by up to 40% and without any reduction in establishment success and growth rates.
Civil Development
The native restoration grade seedlings we produce are also ideal for civil development work. Due to the nature of our containerised stock, these seedlings can be established from late autumn to late spring, extending your opportunity to get projects established.
