Forestry

For permanent and production forestry projects.

Whether your forestry project requires 10,000 or over 1,000,000 seedlings, we are equipped to grow them from seeds supplied by either you or us.

We grow our forestry-grade plants in a 40mm Ellepot paper plug, capable of establishing from early autumn to late spring. This system produces uniform crops with complex root structure for optimal stand establishment and growth.

  • Pinus Radiata

Pinus radiata, is a highly versatile and fast-growing tree, making it an ideal choice for forestry operations in New Zealand. Native to the coastal regions of California, it has been successfully cultivated in various parts of the world due to its adaptability to different climates and soil types. This species is the back bone of forestry in New Zealand.

    Key Benefits:

    1. Rapid Growth: Pinus radiata is renowned for its exceptional growth rate, reaching maturity in as little as 20-30 years.

    2. High Yield: The tree produces a substantial amount of timber per hectare, making it a highly productive species. Its wood is versatile, suitable for construction, paper production, and a variety of other uses.

    3. Adaptability: Pinus radiata thrives in a range of environmental conditions, from temperate to subtropical climates. It is particularly well-suited to regions with well-drained soils and moderate rainfall.

    4. Pest and Disease Resistance: Advances in breeding and genetic selection have enhanced the species' resistance to common pests and diseases, ensuring healthier plantations and reducing maintenance costs.

    5. Environmental Benefits: As a robust carbon sequester, Pinus radiata contributes to reducing greenhouse gases, promoting a sustainable environment. Its deep root system also aids in soil stabilization, preventing erosion.

We specialise in growing high-quality Pinus radiata seedlings. Our seedlings are cultivated under optimal conditions to ensure strong root development and vigorous growth. By choosing our seedlings, you're investing in a reliable and sustainable forestry future.

  • Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus trees are renowned for their rapid growth and versatile applications, making them an excellent choice for forestry operations. Originating from Australia, eucalyptus species have been successfully cultivated worldwide, thanks to their adaptability to diverse climates and soil types.

    Key Benefits:

    1. Fast Growth: Eucalyptus trees are among the fastest-growing hardwoods, with some species maturing in as little as 6-10 years. This rapid growth rate ensures quick returns on investment for forestry operations.

    2. High Yield: Eucalyptus produces a high volume of timber per hectare, making it a highly productive species. Its wood is valuable for pulpwood, biofuel, furniture, and construction materials.

    3. Adaptability: Eucalyptus thrives in a wide range of environmental conditions, from tropical to temperate climates. It is particularly well-suited to areas with poor or degraded soils, making it an excellent choice for land reclamation projects.

    4. Drought and Pest Resistance: Many eucalyptus species are drought-tolerant and resistant to pests and diseases, reducing the need for intensive management and lowering maintenance costs.

    5. Environmental Benefits: Eucalyptus trees are effective at carbon sequestration, helping to mitigate climate change. Their extensive root systems also aid in soil stabilization and water management, preventing erosion and improving soil health.

We are dedicated to providing top-quality eucalyptus seedlings. Our seedlings are cultivated under optimal conditions to ensure robust root development and vigorous growth. By choosing our eucalyptus seedlings, you are investing in a sustainable and profitable forestry future.

  • Sequoia Sempervirens
